The Manure Spreader

Just back from a “viewing” of the newest addition to Greenfire Farms.  And no, I’m not talking about a new calf or lamb.  I’m referring, of course, to a used manure spreader that can apparently do everything we’ve ever needed and more.  All I’ll say after watching a brief demonstration in which my husband acted out the role of the ATV and pulled the spreader behind him for a few feet is that I can’t imagine how we’ve ever had a farm without it.:)  And I should add its purchase comes at a particularly fortuitous time with the closing days of the Presidential election!
I did notice on the Greenfire site that several animals are missing from our pages.  From a golden retriever to an Italian mastiff, a bassett hound, fila and two brother/sister Swiss mountain dogs, surely we have the strangest canine mix of any farm.  They do seem to like each other, or at least hang together on our walks.  Our bassett is the most ferocious – she can track a chicken or our stray peacocks better than any of the others – although she has yet to catch the peacock.  Can’t say the same for the occasional unfortunate chicken…..
